Soupiville

What do you mean you can’t deliver by lunch? Keep in mind, this isn’t “fast food”. I’m a big guy on a big, heavy bike. Think of soupBycycle as “slowfreshgood” food. However, if I know in advance what you want and what day you want it, I can plan out my route to accommodate your order. Furthermore, since I am delivering by bicycle and arranging my daily routes, if I don’t have your order in advance, I may not be able to reach you in time for you to eat lunch! But for “soup-urgency’s” you can always try me! (Don’t worry, be happy, soup is great for dinner too!)

Why is my soup cold? Because I am certified in Food Safety, I properly cool the soups after they cook and before I package each container. Plus, I don’t want to spill hot soup on me while out on deliveries! Keeping it cold keeps it fresh until you decide to reheat and eat.

Where can I have my soup delivered? Anywhere within the delivery zones. Whether it’s the home, office, street corner (you might want to wait for the summer cold soups for that), in your car…….really. If at the office, I can put it in the staff fridge for you. If soup is to be dropped off at your home while you’re out, simply leave a cooler with ice packs by your door, and I’ll put the soup inside the cooler. When you return to your castle, you’ll have fresh soup awaiting you! Again, keep in mind I’m rolling with a lot of extra weight, so specific times will vary, giving yet another meaning to “slowfreshgood” foods.

Dietary Info

If you have any specific dietary limitations, please email your concerns and sBc will try to address them as soon as possible. In the meantime, most of the ingredient listings are or will be on the website. Also, look for nutrition info to be posted in the future.

What’s in the soup? soupBycycle works hard to use local and natural ingredients. By supporting local producers, your money stays in our local economy, creates more local jobs, helps reduce bad stuff in the air, lessens everyone’s carbon footprint and a whole slew of other positives.

Are you a make believe company? NO.  The legal name is soupBycycle, LLC.

Do you offer catering? Simply put, no. For now, sBc is a one person show (with the occasional help from a friend or two) focusing on making and delivering really good soups. Future plans include menu expansion and wholesale possibilities.

What’s the shelf life on my soup? Soups are best enjoyed within 4 days of “cooked on date” (which will be on each soup).

What if my order doesn’t arrive at all? If a situation arises, sBc will notify you immediately of any “non-deliveries”. This would include; kitchen disasters such as the refridgerator dying over night, a soup spillage on the road, flat tires, hazardous weather patterns, traffic (yes, sBc attemps to obey the rules of safe road navagation), stuck in an elevator, or whatever other hang-ups that may occure.  By the off chance of a “non-delivery”, your order will be tacked onto the next days route or you will be issued a “soup-credit”.

No-yuck guarantee? soupBycycle stands behind the quality of each and every soup. If you come across a bowl you didn’t like, simply contact sBc and you will be issued a soup-credit for your next order.

What about empty containers? “RWR-UP”….recycle, wash and reuse or up-cycle. Great for storing leftovers, poke holes in the bottom and use as plant pots, OR hot glue a bunch together and make a “CSPR” (crazy soup protection robot) to keep coworkers from eating the soup that was dropped off by soupBycycle and put in the staff fridge for you earlier that morning as a convenience so you didn’t have to wait in the rain for your soup! A long term goal is to be able to use refillable containers….sort of like the goods ol’ days of the milkman and the deposit system for soda bottles.

PAYMENT

How much is it? Vegan and Vegetarian bowls run $6 (16oz) and $12 (32oz). Meaty bowls are $7 and $14 (see below for delivery fees).

How do I pay? Payment is at time of delivery with cash or check (Many folks leave an envelope in a “secret” place by the cooler, or with the receptionist or office personnel, Which reminds me, there’s no time like the present to give someone a “souppresent”–it’s good for the appetite!). On the other hand, you can pay by credit card if you sign up for a monthly soupscription.

Is there a delivery fee? Yes. $3 per bowl for 1-2 bowls. FREE delivery with 3 or more bowls. “Soup-urgency’s” may carry an extra fee as well, which is up to sBc discretion, depending upon the situation.

Definitions

  1. Soup-Urgency’s: When you just gotta have some soup. Some people may experience “soup-shakes” and will need a bowl or two to soothe themselves.
  2. Souppresent: The gift of soup. You purchase and have it delivered to someone else. Similar to a candy/flower-gram, but I don’t sing or dance (that’s extra).
  3. Non-Delivery: When circumstances beyond the control of soupBycycle arise.
  4. Non-Deliveries: Plural of non-delivery, that’s when something has really hit the fan, more than once.
  5. CSPR:  Crazy Soup Protection Robot. A hot glue gun and duct tape project to up-cycle those empty containers that may pile up at the office. Heck, while you’re at it, you can make a robot to cover for you on really nice days when work seems to be a little drab. Throw some paper mache on it and you’re in business!
